From the article: Easy Halloween Costumes for Kids
Ever arrive in the Halloween costume aisle late in October only to find it completely decimated? There's nothing in your child's size fitting his or her interest, but you don't have the time to run all over town.
Well, this is the time for a DIY Halloween costume idea if there ever was one. What cool costume could you make just from the stuff you have in your kids' dress-up box or regular clothes?

- I found these really cool marching band helmets on ebay and I am thinking about ordering one for my halloween costume, I am going to dress up as a roman soldier. They are cheap and the shipping is free...GREAT DEAL.

Farmer Joe/Jane or Dog/Cat
- Many children have overalls so with a plaid shirt and some tools or plastic veggies like corn, cowboy boots- hat. Cats and Dogs are fun too....you need some make-up, dark nose, whiskers, handband for ears, dark clothes with a pinned on tail.

Quarter Back
- Take a big piece of cardboard and cut a big circle about the size of your child's back. Draw George Washington's Head on it (or 25 Cents) And Attatch it to your child's back. :)

Sports Uniforms
- Old sports uniforms, especially football. an make great Halloween costumes. Kids can either be a favorite player or as we did in my house, they can be zombie football players, if you use some make up.

Cowboy or Cowgirl
- We have gotten a lot of use out of an old cowboy hat for Halloween costumes. Someone always is a cowboy/girl. The kids will steal the dog's bandana (of course I wash it) and put on some jeans and a vest that I found at a thrift store. One year my daughter had some pink cowboy boots that really made the outfit.
