Kids always want to gain more privileges ("Mom, can I have a cell phone?"), but when it comes to responsibilities, like household chores, well, they'll just as soon opt out.
Household chores are rarely met with enthusiasm. And frankly, as a parent, it's easier to just do it yourself than to teach the chore and then, most likely, nag about it.
But in the long run we're doing our kids a disservice if we don't teach them how to take care of household chores. And in the short-run, we're putting a lot more work on ourselves if we don't ask the kids to do some chores. How do you get kids to do household chore?
