Saving Money on Car Insurance
One of the great benefits of working at home is quitting your commute. So if you've given up the commute, be sure you aren't still paying car insurance as if you haven't? Car insurance companies typically base rates and discounts on the number of miles driven per year. And are classified based on the question "How many miles do you drive to work?"
If that number has dropped to zero, you should contact your insurance company and let your agent know. With some policies you may not realize a discount until you can document your miles driven per year. Usually this is done by bringing in auto maintenance records with mileage on them (oil changes, etc.). But some companies will use your own mileage records.
