Turn Your Child’s Nap Time into Quiet Time
Work-at-Home Mom Tip #13

By , About.com Guide

Nap time can be so productive for work-at-home moms. But one of the problems of working during naptime is that sometimes kids don’t nap. Maybe they slept late or maybe they are in the process of dropping their nap. What’s a WAHM to do?

One solution is to turn nap time into “quiet time.” Settle your child in for a quiet independent activity. Maybe give her a pile of books (try wordless picture books for non-readers), an audio book, an easy coloring project or some soft music. Maybe allow some limited TV time. Chances are she could use a little rest anyway. And if tired enough, she may end up napping too.
