Work-at-Home Call Center Employment

Many call centers use contractors, but these hire employees with benefits.

Virtual call centers hire two kinds of workers, employees or independent contractors (a.k.a. self-employed). And while self-employment can seem like a dream--make your own hours, work at home, etc.--it has its downsides, especially for those who work in home call centers. Namely, you absorb many of the costs that those hired into call center employment positions don't, and you don't receive any employee benefits. Also independent contractors are less likely to be paid and hourly wage. For more information on salaries, see this article on Call Center Pay Structures.

So for those considering call center employment it's important to first compare the benefits of employment versus self-employment. For those who decided employment's advantages win, this list of call center jobs only hire employees.
