Things to Do This Summer: Take a Nap

Things to Do for Kids: Napping Ah, wouldn't taking a nap be nice in this hot weather? Sorry, mom, I'm not talking about you (though I've been known to take a power nap). I'm talking about the kids. Napping can be an important part of a work-at-home mom's strategy for getting things done.

But the problem with naps is kids eventually drop them. And when they do it can be a slow, messy affair with daytime crankiness and nighttime waking. So what's a a work-at-home mom to do? The only thing she can--adjust!

Turn naptime into quiet time. Shift the emphasis from sleeping to relaxing activities like reading or listening to music. Break out the audio books or these books without words.
