Every so often a nurse employed by my medical insurance company calls to make sure I'm taking care of my health. I always try to turn the conversation around to find out if the nurse works at home and how she likes it. It rarely works; they are professionals trained to talk to me about my health, after all.
But, of course, I'm curious about these types of telehealth call center positions. I get a lot of emails from RNs and LPNs too asking about these jobs. They are one of the better known work-at-home positions for nurses, but they just one of the many types of work-at-home positions for nurses.
And nurses are only one kind of medical professional who can work from home. Physicians, medical writers, transcriptionists and billers and coders can all work from home. Some medical professionals can even take their knowledge to online teaching jobs.
